Creating a Grants Culture Based on Communication and Education

Grant recipients can improve their grants oversight by taking steps to work more cohesively on their programs. Setting up a unit or team within an entity to communicate roles and responsibility is one approach to improve coordination. Other steps involve increasing training and education to ensure the entity is developing internal controls that can prevent misuse of funds, and can better prepare the entity to meet with auditors and take corrective actions, when needed.
